Dr. Halla Thorsteinsdóttir Director
Halla Thorsteinsdóttir has actively researched innovation in Canada and in low-and-middle income countries such as Brazil, Cuba, China, India, and South Africa. Her research has been published in high-impact journals including Science, the Nature journals, PLOS Medicine, Research Policy and The Lancet, and been covered by media such as The Economist and The Financial Times. Halla completed her doctoral studies at SPRU – Science and Technology Policy Research, University of Sussex, United Kingdom, and completed a master’s degree in Development Economics from the Norman Patterson School of International Affairs at Carleton University in Canada. She has worked as a Senior Advisor for innovation in the Ontario Government and as an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto in Canada. Currently Halla is an Adjunct Professor both with the University of Toronto and Cinvestav, Mexico.
Ms. Nandinee Bandyopadhyah Gender and Equity Analyst
Nandinee Bandyopadhyay has extensive experience in developing strategies to address gender and equity issues around the world both as an Associate Director at PATH, India and as an independent consultant. She has been involved in capacity development, programme evaluation, research, and providing technical support to grassroots civil society organisations, national and international development agencies, government, bilateral and multilateral development partners Nandinee has a BA History (Honours) degree from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India, and an MA with distinction in Gender and Development, from the Institute of Development Studies at the University of Sussex, United Kingdom. She did a postgraduate fellowship at the Institute of Development Studies, United Kingdom, on ‘Reproductive Choices and Population Discourses’.
